Hada Labo Gokujyun Milk

Yet another treasure from the wonderful scientists at Rohto Pharmaceuticals, this beautiful product is seriously overlooked whenever Hada Labo is discussed.

It's the one with pink on it :|

Its basic function is that of a light moisturizer (or day cream, if you prefer.) The texture is milky, much like an emulsion, hence the name. When I use this, I really feel like my skin is being infused with moisture, and I never feel dry during the day, even in this Arizona climate!

The Hada Labo Lotion Moist that I reviewed here, in contrast, is a clear, watery liquid with low viscosity -- thus able to penetrate skin faster than the heavier Milky Lotion. That said, being water-based, the clear Lotion Moist doesn't have the retention properties to lock in all that Hada Labo goodness. That's where a regular moisturizer steps in, like the Milky Lotion. This milk does its job by adding a slightly occlusive layer of moisture,  sealing in all the Hyaluronic deliciousness, while preventing it from evaporating. Here's Jun Ji Hyun to tell you all about it:

I use about a dime-size amount as my last step of morning skincare, before my sunscreen.  The moisture lasts all day and I never have dry, flaky patches at the end of the day.  Keep in mind that this formula isn’t limited to drier skin, but dry skin will definitely benefit the most. I do, however, need some extra moisture every now and the, which I just throw on top of this product and my skin is perfectly happy all day!
